Let Me Get What I Want
I saw this video the other week and thought it was fantastic–in fact, quite possibly the best one a half minutes you’ll watch all week.
It tells a tale of a little boy as he anxiously waits for Christmas to come. Few words, but storytelling at it’s finest. And then couple in the cover of The Smiths’ classic “Please Please Please”… Brilliant!

When you were a child, what was your favorite gift you received?

December 15, 2011That is so very sweet. I loved that, Dustin. Christmas, like every day of the year, should be when we consider others more than ourselves.
Dustin
December 16, 2011Agreed!

December 15, 2011You’re right, that’s brilliant. Thanks for sharing that. THink I’m gonna play it in our church Christmas Eve.

December 15, 2011Great video and, I too, was surprised. I think the favorite gift I received was a blue Diamondback BMX bicycle. No telling how many miles I put on that thing.
Dustin
December 20, 2011Ahhh, a childhood bike… love it!

December 15, 2011As a kid my favorite gift was probably my Nintendo. I still have it and loved it as a kid!
Dustin
December 16, 2011I would say Nintendo, but I saved up my money for that badboy…. :)
Jon
December 15, 2011Dude..loved that video.
There was one toy that I used to play with non-stop when I was little. You know those little handheld games..it’s like the Gameboy, but even before that. Anyways, it was this handheld Aladdin game, and I loved it lol.
Dustin
December 16, 2011Guess who had a little boyhood crush on Jasmine? Um, yes.
Jon
December 16, 2011Who didn’t?! :)
Dustin
December 20, 2011I just watched Aladdin with my girls last night. It may or may not have been their idea. :)

December 15, 2011That was a fantastic video. Even to this day, my favorite has always been when I got my Nintendo video game system. I can still remember the smell of new when I opened the box. And Super Mario Brothers? Man, that was the best Christmas ever.
Dustin
December 16, 2011What about the Power Glove? Man, I was so jealous of those who had that thing!
Moe
December 21, 2011Power Globe was awesome. I liked the robot. Until they recalled it due to radiation. LOL

December 16, 2011Great video, Dustin! Very powerful (and true). My favorite gift was a typewriter. My dad got it for me after I kept playing with his word processor (yes, this was before computers owned the world). I typed story after story on that thing. I just wanted to be a writer! :) go figure.
Dustin
December 16, 2011What a cool start to where you are today!

December 16, 2011I can’t seem to remember what my favorite present was, but that video was awesome!

December 19, 2011I loved this video. It reminds me of Shiloh a little bit. All she can talk about are all the things she wants to get for other people. She has only asked for a toy iron and books for herself, but she told me that she’ll still be thankful if she doesn’t get them. I could learn a few things from my 5-year-old. :)
Dustin
December 20, 2011Wow, that’s awesome – and what a great perspective she has.

December 20, 2011Aww, that was cute. My kids are just now getting old enough to understand Christmas, so this is a special time.
The best Christmas gift I ever got was a bass guitar. It was literally life-changing. I know that sounds stupid, but it led to me being in a youth praise band at church, which led to strengthening my faith in those critical teenage years. It led to me loving music, which led to me falling in love with audio gear, which led me to the career that I have now. So yeah, literally life-changing.
Dustin
December 20, 2011Way cool. That’s neat to see how a simple gift impacted your childhood/teenage years.

December 20, 2011Wow, all I could think the whole time was, “What a brat!” but then there’s the turn at the end and my heart melted. lol.
Thank you for the great video, friend.
Dustin
December 20, 2011Yeah, I had the same thought as well the first time I saw it :)

December 14, 2016· I’ve been seriously considering getting a bike recently, although the hills round here put me off a little bit.If I do I’m going to paint it black, put a batman symbol on it and a tail fin, and call it the Bat Bike. I trust that’s what you are going to do with yours?

December 15, 2016This makes me long for summer! I love this card. Your scene creation always amazes me. When I look at my stamps, I wish I could see the possibilities as you do. Wonderful card. Thanks so much for sharing with us.
